Seniors are watching more on YouTube

Did you know that senior citizens are the fastest growing demographic on YouTube? While the younger groups have been using youtube for decades, it looks like baby boomers are finally diving in and seniors are watching more on YouTube.

I suppose they want to know what all the fuss is about. And with television seriously lacking much quality entertainment - it is no wonder that boomers are turning to youtube for entertainment and more seniors are watching YouTube.

According to YouTube's Trends Dashboard, more than 60 million Baby Boomers over the age of 55 view content on YouTube every month. In fact, four times as many Baby Boomers visit YouTube than people under the age of 18.

So much Selection

Youtube is a booming video marketplace with tons of videos uploaded daily.  With that amount of content, there should be something for everyone.

Actually many seniors prefer to watch YouTube videos instead of tv now.  Below, I listed 5 reasons why many seniors prefer youtube.

5 Reasons why Seniors prefer YouTube over TV

  •  1. There is more selection. In fact 694,000 hours of video are streamed on  YouTube each minute!
  •  2. You can watch it at your convenience and even rewatch it.  You don’t need   to set up a machine to tape your show.
  •   3.  You can watch real people being the stars of their own show.
  • It’s more interactive than TV.
  •   You can even watch  live shows.
